Quds Day, time to boost Islamic unity, renew vows with Palestine liberation objective
Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought has called the International Quds Day as an opportunity for renewal of vows with the objective of the Islamic nation for freedom of holy al-Quds and Palestinian lands.
The major Islamic unity center in Iran made the remarks in a statement issued on the eve of the International Quds Day, annually marked on the last Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the fasting month of Ramadan, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
It hailed the Quds Day as a day to defend the Islamic sanctities and the rights of the oppressed Palestinian nation.
World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought highlighted this year’s motto for al-Quds Day, “We are Committed to Our Pledge with Quds” as a symbol for the unbreakable promise with the holy Mosque and also the objective of freedom of Palestinian lands.
“This is not only a historical commitment but also a religious, humane and moral responsibility that summons all of us to defend al-Quds Mosque and resistance against occupation and oppression”, read a part of the statement by WFPIST.
The statement also hailed the Palestinian people for unity and resistance against oppression calling on all Muslims from different denominations and the world freedom-seeking nations to stand by the Palestine and holy al-Quds.
“World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought calls on the religious leaders, elites and world Muslims for massive turnout on International Quds Day rallies and display their solidarity in defense of the holy al-Quds and Palestinian nation.”
Pro-Palestine activists and Muslims across the globe are set to mark the International Quds Day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday March 28-30 which mark the last weekend in the fasting month of Ramadan 2025.
This year the occasion is expected to be especially commemorated as Israeli regime has renewed deadly strikes across the besieged Gaza and escalated raids against the occupied West Bank.
