“The Israeli Civil Administration, which is a unit in the Ministry of Defence, has begun freezing nearly 80,000 work permits for Palestinian workers from the West Bank,” the Israeli public broadcaster said.
They told WAFA said that Israeli soldiers manning the al-Dhahiriya crossing checkpoint, known as Meitar checkpoint that leads into Israel, opened fire at Palestinian workers as they tried to reach their workplaces inside Israel, hitting two in their lower extremities.
Soldiers reportedly chased the workers and attacked them with rubber-coated rounds and teargas, causing many cases of suffocation from gas inhalation among the workers.
