Ayatollah Sayyed Ahmad Khatami made the remarks in his Friday sermon on January 3, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA)

He hailed the “unique, cautious and brave” Leader of the Islamic Revolution who guides the entire nation.

The cleric also called Iranian nation as another asset in the country hailing the people for more than four decades of supporting the Islamic Revolution.

 In the wake of the fifth martyrdom anniversary of Iran’s top counter-terror commander, Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani, the Friday prayer leader of Tehran paid tribute to the late commander of Quds Forces.

He said,” Had it not been for the sacrifice made by martyrs, the enemies would destroy all holy shrines.”

Thursday marked the fifth martyrdom anniversary of General Qassem Soleimani and the deputy of Iraq’s Hashd al-Shabi, Abu Mahdi Muhandis, both of whom martyred in a US assassination operation targeting the convoy of resistance commanders near Baghdad Airport.
