Speaking to CNN's Fareed Zakaria in New York, where he was attending meetings at the United Nations Security Council, Bagheri emphasized Iran's determination to hold accountable those responsible for the killing of the revered resistance leader.

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri Kani wrote on Twitter on Wednesday, "After weeks of intensive talks, we are closer than ever to an agreement; nothing is agreed until everything is agreed, though. Our negotiating partners need to be realistic, avoid intransigence, and heed lessons of past 4 years."

The meeting between Iran’s top negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani and United Nations nuclear chief Rafael Grossi was held amid intensive diplomatic efforts in the Austrian capital to remove sanctions against Iran.

The talks began on the fifth day of the eighth round of talks in Vienna on Saturday with a meeting between Ali Bagheri, Iran's chief negotiator, and Mikhail Ulyanov, Russia's representative.

After weeks of intensive diplomatic consultations, the eighth round of Vienna negotiations to remove the unlawful sanctions, initiated on December 27, 2021, was entered a break on Monday, February 07.
