The high-level dialogue comes amid a series of diplomatic engagements by Araghchi. On Friday, the Iranian diplomat visited Iraq, where he met with his Iraqi counterpart Fuad Hussein, Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani, and President Abdul Latif Rashid.
Speaking at a conference on “The Future of Palestine” in Ankara, the minister stated: “Words, diplomacy, and international policies are no longer effective.”
“Let us close ranks to defend international law, human rights and universal values that some of our Western friends have forgotten,” said Fidan. He called for using all available means to put pressure on Israel and its allies. “[Moreover] the inhumane conditions and treatment faced by Palestinian prisoners cannot be ignored.”
Ali Bagheri Kani, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, left Tehran for Istanbul on Friday in a bid to participate and deliver a speech in the D-8 group's extraordinary meeting on the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza.
The meeting, which focused on Tehran-Ankara relations as well as the Gaza war, took place on Saturday after Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian made his speech at the OIC summit, where he called on countries to cut diplomatic and economic ties with the Israeli regime to help stop the genocide in Gaza.
In joint news conference with Egyptian counterpart, Fidan says, 'If this crisis is not resolved properly, ... such crises will continue to escalate in our region'
