The grand mufti of al-Azhar has defined the justification of desecrating Islamic sanctities under the pretext of freedom of speech as a disrespect towards man’s rationality.

Grand mufti of al-Azhar has expressed hope that confrontation with the recent desecration of holy Qur’an should set the basis for solidarity among Muslims in standing against their common challenges.
