Speaking at a press conference in Port Sudan during a two-day visit to Sudan, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said 10 more million people have been internally displaced in addition to two million refugees in neighboring countries.
Over 5.25 M people have been displaced within and outside Sudan since April when the conflict flared up said UN OCHA Sudan (Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs) on X social media platform.
As of August 29, “about 4.8 people have been displaced inside and outside the country due to the conflict that erupted on 15 April,” the UN Humanitarian Affairs Office (OCHA) said in a statement.
