The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has called for an independent and immediate probe into the mass graves found in the Gaza Strip with several of bodies found beheaded or tore apart.
"It is imperative that independent international investigators, with forensic expertise, are allowed immediate access to the sites of these mass graves to establish the precise circumstances under which hundreds of Palestinians lost their lives and were buried, or reburied," Guterres told reporters in New York.
At least 392 bodies were found in three mass graves uncovered in the Nasser Medical Complex following the withdrawal of Israeli forces from Khan Yunis city. Among the bodies, 165 remain unidentified after their bodies were disfigured.
