The Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated yesterday there is a “growing concern about the recent escalation of violence, especially against civilian targets, and the continued alleged commission of crimes falling within the jurisdiction of the Court, specifically since October 7th, 2023.”

This emergency briefing document, composed by 3,300 lawyers, was published yesterday after the United States used its veto power to block a United Nations Security Council resolution that aimed to condemn both Hamas’s attack on Israel and all acts of violence against civilians, while also calling for humanitarian access to Gaza.

During May's offensive, "Israel unlawfully destroyed Palestinian homes, often without military necessity, in what amounts to a form of collective punishment against the civilian population."
