Fuad Hussein made the comment in a phone conversation with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian while announcing that Iraq's President Abdul Latif Rashid will pay an official visit to Iran in the near future.
The New York-based mission issued the remarks in a statement on Saturday, a day after the two sides arrived at the agreement in Beijing under Chinese mediation.
Iran and Saudi Arabia agreed, on Friday, to re-establish relations after seven years of hostility that had threatened stability and security in the Gulf and helped fuel conflicts in the Middle East from Yemen to Syria.
