Jurists, leaders and scholars across the world of Islam have issued fatwa (religious statement) demanding Muslims to pay their annual Zakat for the people affected in the recent powerful quake in Turkey and Syria.
Kazem Sedighi said Tuesday morning on the occasion of the Eid al-Fitr prayer sermons that were held in the presence of Tehran worshipers at the University of Tehran: "The sign of accepting fasting on Eid al-Fitr is paying attention to the poor and needy, and zakat is an obligation that includes all kinds of financial worship.”
