During the meeting of heads of Iran and Azerbaijan Joint Economic Commission yesterday in Astara, Iran Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Mehrdad Bazrpash, and Shahin Mustafayev, First Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, discussed different bilateral agendas for increased trade and transit and reached some agreements.
In an interview with Iran Press correspondent in Russia, Shahriar Afandizadeh stated that the North-South Corridor is one of the most important transportation routes that Iran and Russia emphasize in increasing transit through it.
The head of Iran's customs said: “More than 10 million and 228,000 tons of goods made in other countries in the first ten months of this year in Persian calendar (starting from March 20) transited through Iran, which has increased by 75% compared to the same period last year.
