Many Iranian families mark the beginning of Persian New Year with in Martyrs’ Cemetery. Traditionally Iranians celebrate the beginning of the year with their loved ones including those martyred.

Millions of Iranians gathered at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS), eighth Shia Imam and grandson of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH), to mark the beginning of the Persian New Year.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has congratulated the nation on the advent of the Persian New Year vowing further efforts by the government towards a world of peace, fraternity and humanity.

Thousands of Iranians from across the country gathered at the holy shrine of Imam Reza (AS) in the northeastern city of Mashhad to mark the Persian New Year as the ceremonies coincided with the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (AS) and Qadr Nights.

The Leader of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei, has designated the New Year 1404 as the year for “Investment for Production” expressing hope for victory of the Islamic nation.
